It’s a funny thing, what I do. You might call me the middle man. Or the bus driver.
I’d even let you call me a wizard. But really, I’m the problem solver.
I make sure that the path is clear, visible and pursued. That we’ve asked the right questions. That the thinking has been challenged. That the creative has been poked at, pushed to the edge of excellence and carried across the finish line.
Work with people like they’re people. And not just clients, but internal teams, too.
Communicate. Listen. Empathize. Do what you say you’re going to do.
Pay attention, anticipate needs, and give the people around you what they need to look like rock stars.
Get smart on the ins and outs of each business issue and come to the conversation prepared
to provide a thoughtful point of view. Do a lot of homework on products, industries, and competitors.
Make sure you’re not just taking orders, but solving the right problems then following through
with thoroughly considered solutions.
Voraciously consume information. Articles. Research. Books about ponies.
Podcasts about unsolved crimes. Put things in your head that give you context and create connections.
It’s amazing how ideas and strategies start to connect when you open your perspective.
Besides, it’ll make you a hit a parties.
